Oracle buys out RightNow Technologies – Bozeman, Montana – Entrepreneur Interview

In 2008 I had the chance to interview the founder of RightNow Technologies in Bozeman, Montana. Greg Gianforte (CEO and Founder) is a very down to earth person with a true passion for his business. RightNow technologies was bought out October 24, 2011 for 1.5 billion dollars by software giant Oracle.
In addition to building and running very successful companies, Greg loves the outdoors and working on wood projects in his shop.

The interview was one of my first for the Think Entrepreneurship site. I apologize in advance for the poor sound quality and my nervousness in the interview!

Entrepreneur Interview with RoughStock Distillery in Bozeman, Montana

This past week I had the opportunity to interview the co-founder of RoughStock Distillery in Bozeman, Montana. Bryan Schultz and his wife Kari started the whiskey distillery in 2008 and have since been working hard to grow the business. RoughStock Distillery is the only legal whiskey distillery in the state of Montana. It is a craft distillery that still does everything by hand. They started out in a small warehouse on the east side of Bozeman, MT and eventually moved to a large facility on highway 191 between Bozeman and Big Sky, Montana. Bryan and Kari are both extremely passionate about their company and about growing the business.

The two entrepreneurs pooled their personal money together to start the venture and have since Continue reading

Entrepreneur Interview with HuntingGPSmaps.com founder Eric Siegfried

I recently had the opportunity to learn about an innovative technology company in Missoula, Montana that creates hunting software for GPS devices and computers. The Montana based company is named Hunting GPS Maps and is rapidly catching the attention of many hunters, ranchers, and outdoors people. Hunting GPS Maps creates map software that shows who owns land and where property boundaries are. It is often very hard to distinguish where public land, private land, and individual property boundaries are. To help simplify the process, Hunting GPS Maps came out with a program that can be installed on any GPS device with a mini SD card slot. Hunters and outdoors people now have the ability to know exactly who’s land they are on and know if they have permission to hunt the land. In addition to showing property boundaries, the gps software shows the name of the property owner.

Why you should be setting goals and writing them down

Goals and success go hand in hand. If you want to be successful, you need to have dreams and aspirations that motivate you to be the best you can be. You need to be able to see the big picture of where you want to go with your life and a vision and strategy to achieve your aspirations. Goals help you keep track of how you are doing and essentially make life a game. The more goals you can cross off, the more you will win in life.

People who set goals have an idea of where they are going and what they want in life. Goal setters have been proven Continue reading

How to make a WordPress website – Get your website or blog up today!

I am writing this post about creating a blog due to the feedback I’ve had from the Think Entrepreneurship community. There are many people out there who want to get going on a website or blog, but don’t know the steps needed to get one started.

I thought I’d share how I create my blogs and websites. I am not a programmer or professional web designer by any means. However, I have learned the ins and outs of setting up a blog. The Think Entrepreneurship blog was created using the techniques I am going to explain to you. I’ve helped many people get their blogs set up, and they were created using the exact same techniques that I have used with the Think Entrepreneurship blog. Our blog was created on a bootstrapping budget using a domain register, hosting service, the free and open source Wordpress Platform, and a Continue reading
